5 DAILY DISCIPLINES FOR SUCCESS
Have you ever had one of those days, where everything seems to be going wrong or you can’t seem to stay on task with what has to be done? Then you take a moment to look back and see what exactly happened throughout your day; the chronological order of events to see what exactly could have been done better, or at what moment did everything seem to take a turn for the opposite of how you planned?
We as humans are naturally creatures of habits, whether good or bad from washing your hands to flushing the toilet, have all become second nature to us. We must treat our goals the same way, by setting ourselves up accordingly with our daily disciplines.
These are simple things that make the big difference throughout our day and how we respond to the things we can’t control.
Let me share with you, 5 daily disciplines that allow you to conquer the day no matter what stage in life you’re in, what industry you are a part of or whatever your goals may be. These simple yet effective ways allow you to attack a goal one day at a time until achieved rather than being overwhelmed by the overall achievement of the goal itself.
Pray & Meditate They say praying is talking to God, Meditation is listening to God. Take time to be still everyday. Never going to tell anyone what or who to believe in. However it is essential to your peace to know that you can control what you control. The rest is up to God. Let go and let God. Praying and meditation has been life altering to my life and so many successful people I know.
2. Read 10 pages of a good book every day. I once heard the wealthiest secrets of all the greats are found in books, because nobody hardly reads it. Reading a few pages of something that will allow you to learn something new or get better at your craft or become a better person is necesarry for ongoing growth. Your bank account will only grow to the extent that you do. Personal development is necessary for growth and success in every area of life.
3. Listen to Something Inspirational or Motivational- Have you ever heard a tune or jingle and immediately know the words to that song? Yes, of course, because it’s programmed in your subconscious mind. Garbage in, garbage out, greatness in greatness out. Everything we listen to look at is reprogramming our subconscious mind and awareness. When you listen to something inspirational it not only inspires you to conquer the day or task at hand but it also gives you the belief that if someone else could, you could too. Just like when you listen to something motivational it motivates you to get it done whatever that may be and if someone else could accomplish it you could too.
4. Gratitude Journaling - Having an attitude of gratitude will get you a long way. The more you are grateful for what you have the more you will make room for what you want. Taking a moment to be thankful changes your attitude and gives you a different perspective almost instantly. Next time you want to change the mood take time to think of things, people, experiences, accomplishments you are grateful for. Download this Free Gratitude Journal to implement this best practice and share with others!
5. Exercise- Health is Wealth. The body is a precious temple, we must take care of it as it is the only one we have. I was an athlete my entire life and somewhere along the journey of life dealing with a busy schedule and making other things a priority I ended up putting my health to the back burner. During the pandemic, I had time to realize that and made this daily discipline a part of my lifestyle and my life has been drastically different ever since. You do not have to do much, just something to get you body flowing and energy going!
