1. NETWORKING
- The key component in networking is putting out the energy you want to attract.
- Build your circle of influence in different industries
- Incorporate simple ways to generate a conversation like saying hello to 5 strangers a day, smile & greet when approaching someone, hold the door while out in public are all simple ways to meet new people.
- Have an elevator pitch, a 30 second intro and value added statement used to spark interest in what you do.
- Use the F.O.R.M technique
(Family, Occupation, Recreation, Message/Money/Motivation) to start conversation and build rapport with cold market/old acquaintances .
2. SOCIAL MEDIA
- Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok are just some of the top recommended social media platforms one can use to build their influence, brand, business and most importantly add value to a community.
- Engagement: Take the time out to get to know more about the person behind the profile. Make it habitual for you to comment on pictures, stories and even personal messages on occasion. It is the key to converting people into loyal followers, and maybe even into paying customers.
- Serve: Keep a give first mentality by always looking to provide value because if you go about engaging with people with your only goal being for personal gain, your road will be long, unfulfilling and quite likely unprofitable because you will not have meaningful relationships.
3. COMMUNITY
- If you want to do something fast do it by yourself but if you want to go far, go as a team.
- Tap into a community, network, connect with influencers, share one another’s content, find someone in your industry, in your city and help each other add value to one another’s following. However, you’ll want to make sure that this collaboration is both helpful and authentic. You want to make sure that your brand is always seen in a positive light, and you don’t scare your followers away with too much.
4. UBER
- This is a hidden networking gem. Taking uber positions you in the opportunity to meet someone you did not know, have a conversation, promote yourself/brand all while getting you to your destination.
- Low cost: for as low as $10-$30 a week
- You can meet 2-3 + new people a week, potentially 12 new people a month, (144 new people) to offer a free resource to put into your contact list, email list or even better to your community
5. Get Uncomfortable & Do The Work
- Life begins at the end of your comfort zone! You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start to be great.
- Be impatient with your activity and patient with your results. You may not be able to control the outcome all of the time but you can always control your highest input; personal effort.
- You get recognized in public for what you do in private. Doing the work is always necessary to get to where you want to go and grow from the inside out.
- You have to have a burning desire to add value to others in whatever line of work it is that you are in. Activity cures all illness and will drive you closer to whatever it is that your goals are.
