7 MINDSET HACKS FOR SUCCESS
Have you Ever thought about what type of mindset does it takes to be successful? How successful people think? As an athlete I had Legends I looked up to for the record breaking stats. I studied the Greats in Football like Brett Favre, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Reggie White along with Legendary Businessmen like Mark Cuban, Rick Ross, Kobe Bryant and noticed they all had one thing in common, no matter what field they were in: Their Discipline in their Mindset for Success.
Each and every single one of them are intentional and disciplined in how they train their mind to be successful. In my journey from being an athlete, to a barber and entrepreneur I have discovered that it is essential to have mindset hacks that are conducive to your success.
7 Mindset Hacks are as follows:
Morning Routine
It is important to set the tone for the day and set yourself up for success with a routine. It allows us to control our schedules rather than our schedule controlling us. It is vital to prioritize our time to focus on what’s important which ultimately increase our productivity.
2. Change Your Focus
What you focus on expands and what you focus on the longest becomes the strongest. You have to guard your thoughts because they are being attacked daily with all of “life”: work, school, kids, business and etc. So be intentional on what you will focus on wether it be happiness, joy, fulfillment because what you focus on is what you will follow.
3. Control The Controllable’s-
Control what you can control. Way to often we beat ourselves up for things that are out of our control: weather, traffic, other people , life problems. I personally found myself giving these areas way to much energy there fore self sabotaging myself by allowing it to alter my overall joy. Instead I started becoming more intentional on focusing on my attitude, effort, mindset, and thoughts which attributed to major breakthroughs in health, career and business.
4. Attitude of Gratitude
An Attitude of Gratitude is a habit that is often overlooked but crucial to unlocking a successful mindset. Implement an appreciation for all different parts of life, no matter how small. “If you concentrate on what you have, you'll always have more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you'll never have enough”. - Lewis Howes. Every day won't be perfect, but focusing on what we are grateful for tends to wash away feelings of anger and negativity. Take the time to acknowledge yourself for what you have done and accomplished in the last
day/week/month/year. Instead of comparing yourself to others, give yourself credit for the big and small things you have been doing!
5. Visualization
Visualization is beneficial for motivation, focus and effective goal setting. You can’t achieve or go somewhere you don’t see yourself going.
Envision yourself achieving your goals, being who you want to be, living the life you want and what you need to do to reach it.
6. Reflection
Ask yourself , how often do you reflect? How often do you look back to see how far you’ve come and where your headed? Well reflection allows you to bring your attention to what’s happening in your life in a mindful way. It is one of the best ways that you can shift your mindset, discover a greater connection to oneself and increase positivity in your life.
7. Celebrate Small Wins
Anyone guilty of not giving themselves credit for accomplishments, big or small? I most definitely have and it cost me some joy along my journey. Its imperative we take the time to pat ourselves on the back and reward ourselves accordingly. Whether it be a dinner, new pair of shoes, or a vacation make it a priority to celebrate the wins for that sense of accomplishment from time to time.
